Rangers hero Ryan Kent has joined MLS side Seattle Sounders on a short-term deal – after being without a club since October.
The 28-year-old was released by Turkish giants Fenerbahce five months ago, just 16 months after signing a four-year deal.
Now the former Ibrox winger has penned a contract with Seattle which will keep him Stateside until the end of the season, with an option to extend for a further year.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Ryan Kent to Seattle and add him to our existing group this season,” Sounders FC General Manager & Chief Soccer Officer, Craig Waibel, told the club website.

“Ryan is a dynamic winger with top-level experience who brings pace, creativity and a dangerous attacking threat. His versatility and work ethic make him a great fit for our system, and we believe he can make an immediate impact and allow us to continue competing at the highest level.”
Kent enjoyed a successful spell at Rangers, winning the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup, and he was part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s squad that reached Europa League final in 2022.
However, he played just 19 times at Fenerbahce before his contract was ripped up as Jose Mourinho did not want him as part of his squad.
Confirming Kent's exit in October 2024, a Fenerbahce statement read: "The contract of Ryan Kent, one of the players of the Professional Football A Team, has been mutually terminated."
