Ryan Kent Leicester transfer 'interest' emerges as Brendan Rodgers reveals player profile he wants

Ryan Kent could be a late transfer target for Leicester City according to a report, but the Foxes have a strict player profile in mind.

The former Liverpool winger's future is still hanging in the balance at Rangers, with no new terms signed and a contract running down in to the final few months. It has been a long saga of swirling transfer links for the Ibrox winger, with Leeds United previously said to be leading the charge for his signature but to no avail. Kent has been a key part to Michael Beale's start in Glasgow but could still sign a pre-contract with interested parties before Tuesday's deadline.

Yet there seems to have been no major movement for Kent but now according to 90Min.com the 26-year-old is a live option and could be the subject of a late swoop. The report also states that the Foxes have seen bids for Fiorentina star Nicolas Gonzalez turned down while Rodgers seems to also have his eye on Brazilian winger Tete, currently on loan at Lyon from Shakhtar Donetsk.

He said this week: “There will be adjustments in the squad but everyone is clear from the summer what their situation is.

“If a senior player has to miss out (in the 25 man Premier League squad) he will have known that will have been the case or known he needed to get football elsewhere.

“We have to do what’s best for the club and the squad. We don’t need to move any out, the club are working very hard to get the right type of player we need in. We can get a player in, there’s no problem with that, but you have to get the right type of player in.”

Kent broke his silence on his future this month saying: "Not as of yet. [contract decision] I am just concentrating on the remainder of this season. I am sitting down with the manager discussing my future.

Asked if it is a distraction, he continued: "Not for myself, maybe for people discussing it on the outside it may seem that way but I have just been concentrating on my game. I have full trust in the manger to keep backing me to play. We will go from there.

"The manager has been key in my career since I was a young lad. The trust is reciprocated between one another. He is a quality manager and coach."
