Ryan Kent is facing a race against the clock to be fit for Rangers' crunch Champions League return clash with Union-Saint Gilloise at Ibrox next week.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men trail two-nil after defeat in Belgium earlier this week with a spot in the play-off round on offer to the winner of the two-legged tie. Monaco or PSV await with then just 180 minutes in the way of a spot in the tournament proper. The Light Blues face Kilmarnock this afternoon as they bid to make it two wins from two in the Premiership and pick up a confidence boosting win and performance ahead of that Euro crunch.
Alfredo Morelos has returned to the fold with a spot in the bench for the clash with Derek McInnes' Premiership new boys - but Kent misses out with the influential fans' favourite pushing hard to make a return to fitness in time for Tuesday night. Speaking ahead of Rangers' clash with Kilmarnock, Van Bronckhorst told BBC Sportsound: "We are disappointed with the result on Tuesday and we want a better performance than we did then.
"We are determined to get a good performance. It's good to have Alfredo back. He has worked hard for this moment.
"Ryan is too early for today but we are pushing hard to have him ready for Union."
