Ryan Kent and James Sands take part in Rangers training ahead of PSV Champions League test

Rangers took part in training today ahead of their clash with PSV and there was the welcomed sight of Ryan Kent and James Sands after they sat out the win over St Johnstone.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst rested the former Liverpool winger - who made his injury return in the comeback win over Union SG at Ibrox last midweek - while team-mate Sands missed out through illness. But both took part in full training ahead of the Champions League play-off showdown with the Dutch giants. The likes of skipper James Tavernier, John Lundstram, and Tom Lawrence were all smiles as they all also took part in today's session.

The Light Blues are potentially just 180 minutes from joining Ange Postecoglou and his Celtic side in the lucrative group stage proper and with that land a major cash windfall for competing alongside Europe's elite clubs. Rangers head into the match on a huge high after a thumping win over St Johnstone at Ibrox. Malik Tillman, Antonio Colak, Scott Arfield, and Lawrence grabbed the goals to make it three wins from three in the Premiership. Opponents PSV also head into the game on a high after hitting Go Ahead Eagles for five in their domestic league.

But their weekend clash with FC Volendam ahead of the return in the Netherlands has been rescheduled in order to boost their hopes of knocking out Van Brockhorst's side.

A club statement read: "As PSV have booked a spot in the UEFA Champions League play-offs, the match versus FC Volendam, originally scheduled to take place on Saturday 20 August, has been moved to Wednesday 31 August, with an 18.45 kick-off."

It continued: "The match at home to FC Volendam was to take place in between the two play-off games.

"By moving the FC Volendam fixture, PSV will have an opportunity to prepare thoroughly for the decisive second play-off leg in the Philips Stadion on 24 August. Ruud van Nistelrooy will face Rangers FC in the UEFA Champions League play-off.

"Rangers progressed to the play-offs after a 3-2 win on aggregate against Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise. The Belgians registered a 2-0 win in the first leg but Rangers overcame the two-goal deficit, winning 3-0 in Glasgow."
