Ryan Jack in outstanding Rangers gesture as he makes 'dream come true' for fan in cancer remission

A young Rangers fan currently recovering from a battle with cancer was given a welcome boost and surprise by Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack this week.

Daven Milne was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at just two years of age but thankfully came through and has been in remission for the last decade. He is a fan of the Ibrox club and was shocked when his favourite player met with him in Bishopton to hand over a signed top and catch up for a chat.

The Scotland international previously handed the 12-year-old his match-worn shirt after a Europa League win over Braga earlier this year but he went one step further this time as pre-season preparations continue at Rangers. A video of the meeting has amassed over 43,000 views on Twitter after John O'Byrne, whose foundation supports those in Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Children, uploaded the clip.

He wrote: "So yesterday (July 14th) we made this wee guy's dream come true. He's been fighting cancer for years and is doing well now so we set it up for him to meet his hero Ryan Jack."

The youngster discovers Jack in another room after a chat about his cancer battle and his support for the Light Blues.

Rangers' midfielder then stayed for an hour off camera to talk with him in a brilliant gesture from the 30-year-old.

After 25 weeks of treatment from a rare pleomorphic undifferentiated primitive sarcoma, the 12-year-old was in remission but has damage to the base of his brain and struggles with health issues and developmental issues. He's been in remission for 10 years.
