Rangers have suffered a major blow ahead of their vital clash with Hibs as influential star Ryan Jack is ruled OUT.
The midfielder is only just back in the fold after missing a lengthy period with a calf injury.
He was excellent in the second half against Celtic last week as Rangers tried to recover from a first half hammering.
And Jack was outstanding in Sunday’s 5-0 thumping of Hearts, dominating the middle of the park.
However, he had to come off with an ankle knock after a challenge by Ben Baningime that referee Willie Collum did not rule was a foul.
And van Bronckhorst said: “Ryan Jack is out after a problem with his ankle, he will be out of the squad for tomorrow. I don't think it is serious, he got a knock during the game.
“The challenge on Ryan Jack caused an issue with his ankle, he is a very tough player and it takes a lot for him to stay down.”
There were raised eyebrows when Collum took no action especially as he cautioned Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey for what van Bronckhorst thought were fair tackles
He said: “Both Leon and Calvin picked up yellow cards after appearing to win the ball so I can understand their frustrations. The ref doesn't have VAR or replays so it is difficult for them in matches.”
It’s liable that Glen Kamara will come in although Steve Davis is an option.
Rangers have beaten Hibs twice in the league this season but they have both been tight affairs.
Kevin Nisbet gave the Leith men the lead at Ibrox back in October but after Ryan Porteous was sent off Rangers came back to win 2-1 with goals from Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos.
And it was Roofe who secured three vital points at Easter Road on December 1 with a late penalty just 10 days after Hibs had humbled the Light Blues 3-1 in the League Cup semi-final.
