New Bayern Munich signing Ryan Gravenberch has given a glowing review about new Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
He lifted the Eredivisie title under him last term and was subsequently linked with a switch to Old Trafford. However, he said he had already given his word to Bayern, who snapped him up for around £17m.
The 20-year-old midfielder flourished under Ten Hag in Amsterdam. He was yet another product of the club’s academy that became a first team regular under the Dutch coach, following in the footsteps of Donny van de Beek and Matthijs de Ligt.

Jurrien Timber is another one of those, but like Gravenberch, it seems United ’s attempts to lure him to Manchester have been in vain. Nevertheless, the lynchpin - who grabbed three goals and six assists last season - praised his former manager.
Gravenberch offered an insight into how Ten Hag treated him, which may indicate how he will approach youngsters breaking into the first team at United, such as Alejandro Garnacho and James Garner. He told FCUpdate : “I’m glad I had him (Ten Hag) as a trainer.
“He especially taught me to keep calm. When I just got to the first team, I really wanted to make minutes, but he said ‘That will come.
"'First become reliable in Jong (Ajax’s youth team). Then you start making minutes’. In the end, that’s how it went.”
