Ryan Gravenberch 'enthusiastic' over Liverpool transfer after agent and father talks

Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is "enthusiastic" about the possibility of getting his career back on track at Liverpool, according to a new report.

Gravenberch made the move to the German champions from Ajax last summer for around £20m. But the young Dutchman has found game time tough to come by for Bayern and has therefore been linked with a move away from Germany.

Sky Sports claim Anfield officials have made a strong pitch to the Gravenberch camp. They say the Reds met the 20-year-old's representative, Rafaela Pimenta, at the turn of the year, and last week "engaged" his father, who guides his son's career.

The report, by Melissa Reddy, adds that Gravenberch was on Liverpool's shortlist of midfielders last summer, which contained Aurelien Tchouameni, Enzo Fernandez, Jude Bellingham and Nico Barella.

Gravenberch now appears the most likely of those names to make the move to Merseyside this summer, with the ECHO understanding the Reds have cooled their interest in Bellingham and instead are targeting a more rounded approach to reconstructing their engine room during the off-season. Tchouameni joined Real Madrid last summer and Fernandez moved to Chelsea in January. Barella is still supposed to be on Liverpool's radar.

Bayern are said to be open to parting ways with Gravenberch but will want to recoup their outlay from last summer, plus a small fee, as the report notes, to cover Ajax's seven-and-a-half per-cent sell-on fee.
