Ryan Gosling Reveals Regret Over 'La La Land' Hand Placement

Ryan Gosling’s minor issue with La La Land has now been resolved

The 2016 romantic musical film La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, made a significant impact upon its release, garnering six Oscars and a momentary seventh. However, Gosling recently disclosed a lingering regret related to the movie.

In a video interview with The Wall Street Journal, Gosling expressed that there is a particular aspect of his role in La La Land that continues to 'haunt' him. He recounted a scene where he and Stone were dancing, and he made a decision that he now wishes he could redo. Gosling explained that he chose to position his hand flat and horizontal, believing it to be cooler than the traditional upright hand placement. Reflecting on this choice, he admitted that it ultimately detracted from the energy of the scene.

Gosling humorously referred to this mistake as 'La La Hand' and joked about being dubbed 'Hamburger hands Gosling' due to a similar handshape term used by dancers. The official social media accounts for La La Land seized the opportunity to rectify this error through Photoshop, much to the delight of Twitter users.

Furthermore, Gosling has also expressed dissatisfaction with his involvement in skits parodying the popular film franchise Avatar during his appearances on Saturday Night Live. These skits humorously mocked Avatar's logo, utilizing an unpopular typeface.

Despite the passage of time since the release of La La Land, the film continues to resonate with audiences, and Gosling's candid reflections on his role provide a unique insight into the behind-the-scenes dynamics of the movie.
