The Ohio State Buckeyes came, saw, and conquered Saturday, beating the Northwestern Wildcats 31-7.
The Wildcats were led by quarterback Jack Lausch, who went for 201 passing yards on 21-of-35 passing. He was the most effective Northwestern player as the Wildcats moved the ball little on the ground throughout the game.
The Buckeyes had a clear edge in the trenches and used that advantage frequently. They went for 150 rushing yards between Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson along with two scores from the duo, both from Judkins.
As for how head coach Ryan Day felt Northwestern played, he only gave uplifting comments following the battle, calling it a “business-like” win for his Buckeyes.
“I think he’s a really good coach and they have a good team. So, yeah, I think it’s good that, like you said, kind of a business-like win. And now it’s time to move on,” Day said via Bucknuts’ Steve Helwagen.
Day also praised Carnell Tate, who had a huge game against the Wildcats.
“The game doesn’t care what you’ve been through… but we do, his teammates do, coaches, we care a lot about him”

Ohio State will have bigger fish to fry as it will return home and welcome the Indiana Hoosiers to Ohio Stadium Saturday for a top-five battle.
With Indiana and Michigan on deck, things will start to heat up for Ohio State in the coming weeks.
