PSV Eindhoven manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has claimed he is "very relaxed" amid reports linking Cody Gakpo to Manchester United.
Gakpo has been targeted by a number of Premier League clubs after scoring 21 goals in all competitions for the Dutch side last season. Leeds United, Arsenal and Everton have all been linked in addition to the Red Devils, with a price tag just shy of £40m being mooted.
PSV take on Rangers in the Champions League play-off round on Wednesday night, and Van Nistelrooy's side had been keen to call upon the Dutch international for the delicately poised game. The manager was quizzed about the future of last season's top scorer ahead of the second leg, and made his position clear.
"I think I am very relaxed about the situation,’ former Man Utd striker Van Nistelrooy told the media before the second leg (via Metro ). The first leg of the play-off ended 2-2 at Ibrox, with Armando Obispo equalising for the Dutch runners-up.
"There have been rumours about him since the beginning of the season almost eight weeks ago. And we have not seen Cody changing his behaviour up to now.
"There were rumours over the whole period, and I admire that a lot in him. He is working on his development on a daily basis, playing in games and reaching his level."
Van Nistelrooy, who spent a number of years at Old Trafford during his playing career, maintained it's "obvious" the club want Gakpo to stay. "There’s no if or what ifs. He’s a PSV player until further notice," he continued.

PSV have already lost the likes of Mario Gotze and Ritsu Doan this summer, though they have boosted their squad with the return of former Barcelona man Luuk de Jong, who scored the first goal of his second stint during the last round of the Champions League as Van Nistelrooy's team saw off Monaco.
Whether or not Gakpo joins Manchester United could hinge on the club's pursuit of Antony. The Premier League side have seen a bid of around €80m for the Brazil international knocked back by the Eredivisie champions.
“In the end, God determines my future," Antony said this month when asked if he could give reassurances to Ajax's fans. “I am very happy at Ajax, I have a contract until the summer of 2025 and I will give everything for this beautiful club for every second.
“Now I am focusing on playing football and have put all other matters in the hands of my agents and my brother. They will advise me on what is best.”
