Willie Harvey has warned his Rutherglen Glencairn side to get out of their slump, or they’ll be in relegation trouble.
Harvey insists he’s not currently worried about the Glens’ West of Scotland League Premier Division status, but they have three vital games against Rossvale, Darvel and Cumbernauld United coming up, and need points from them all.
That comes after a home match against Arthurlie in the Kilmarnock Pie West of Scotland League Cup second round tonight (Wednesday), but Harvey is focused on moving them further up the league table.
He said: “I’m not overly concerned about cup ties at the moment, I’m more concerned about league form.
“If you had offered we a win against Arthurlie or Rossvale I’d take the win against Rossvale on Saturday.
“We should be looking to win every game, but at the moment with the way we’re playing... we just need to start getting a bit of confidence again.
“We seem to be lacking confidence just now for some reason and I don’t understand why – there’s no reason for it.
“We need to get back to the drawing board, the players need to come back out of their slump.
“They were told in no uncertain terms on Saturday that if they continue to play the way we’re playing we’re going to be in very serious trouble, all of a sudden.
“It’s in our hands, the players have to get that into their heads and they’ve got to fight for every single point.
“We have three league games in a row we have to take points from all of them – it’s as simple as that.”
