Rutherglen community group celebrates the coronation of King Charles III in style

A Rutherglen community group pulled out all the stops to celebrate The Coronation of King Charles III.

Local Group Peoples Past Peoples Future held the party event, ‘Cake 'n Crown’, on Wednesday, May 3, in St Columbkille's Hall, Kirkwood Street.

Over 160 revellers came along to dance, play bingo and toast the new King.

Geraldine Baird of Peoples Past Peoples Future said: "What a terrific afternoon, everyone so happy and full of joy, thanks to the wonderful staff at St Columbkilles hall, our music man Phil and our photographer, local man Gordon Hutchison of Forget Me Not Photography.

Over 160 people enjoyed the day (Forget Me Not Photography)

“The day was crowned when PT Clean Ruggy Bear popped in for a visit. It was a day to remember."

The event was made possible due to the generosity of the sponsors, which included PTS Clean, Royal Burgh of Rutherglen Community Council and ASDA.
