Ruth Langsford has revealed that she was terrified to meet Eamonn Holmes' children when they first fell in love.
The Loose Women star, 61, tied the knot with the veteran broadcaster in 2010, but years before their big day, Ruth was riddled with fears about what Eamonn's children would think of her.
The much-loved star opened up about her step-mum ordeal on Monday's Valentine's Day special of the ITV show during a debate about whether or not partners should try and 'win over' their stepchildren.
"I'm obviously a step-parent. And I have to say, I was very, very, nervous about meeting Eamonn's children," Ruth admitted.
"I didn't meet them for quite a while. They were about 5, 6, and 8, at the time. So they were all very young. But I do remember thinking if they don't like me, this is doomed. Quite understandably.
"Eamonn is such an incredible father - his children are his number one priority. So, I was very nervous but Eamonn was great. He said 'just be yourself and let them come to you'.
"He said they had all very different personalities. And he told me which one would come to me first and then second - and they all absolutely did. He said 'just don't interview them, just be you'.
Eamonn is a proud dad to four children - sons Declan, Niall, and Jack.
He also has one daughter called Rebecca.
Jack is the son of Eamonn and his Ruth.
He was born in 2002 and left his family home to attend university in 2020.
Jack's appearances on his father's social media are rare, but Eamonn marked his son turning 18.
The proud dad posted a photo and he wrote: “My Baby Son becomes 18 today, all grown up and at least 6 inches taller than his old Dad.
"Couldn't be more proud of the young man he has become. Many Happy Returns Jack.
