Ruth Langsford has been seen still wearing her wedding ring, despite her split from husband Eamonn Holmes after 27 years together. The TV presenter, who was married to Eamonn for 14 years, appeared out in public wearing the band as she ran errands in a large green coat, carrying a leather handbag and a travel bag. Her outing, which took place after lunch with close friend Lizzy Cundy at Soho House, showed Ruth deep in conversation, seemingly unaffected by the emotional journey she’s navigating after the separation.
The couple, who share a 22-year-old son, Jack, announced their split last year, leaving many fans shocked by the end of their long relationship. Despite the breakup, Ruth seems to be choosing to continue wearing her wedding ring, a symbol of her past life with Eamonn.
Earlier this month, Ruth opened up about the “painful” nature of her split from Eamonn, acknowledging that going through a divorce in the public eye is especially challenging. “A break-up of a relationship is hard enough for anybody to deal with,” Ruth confessed. “A divorce is very difficult and it’s very painful, but most people don’t have to do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion about you and writing things about you and commenting things about you. But that’s the nature of my job. I’ve always had that and if you can’t cope with that, you shouldn’t be doing this job”, reported the Mirror.
Despite the ongoing pain, Ruth emphasized that she is moving forward and embracing her new reality. “I’m not delighted my marriage is over but I’ve accepted that my marriage is over, so I am trying to now embrace the fact that I’m single and can make choices that are just about me,” Ruth shared with Women magazine.
