Ruth Langsford returns to Loose Women for first time since Eamonn Holmes split

Ruth Langsford has made an emotional return to Loose Women two months after announcing her split from Eamonn Holmes.

The panelist, 64, looked visibly moved as she joined Coleen Nolan, Janet Street Porter and Brenda Edwards on Monday’s show.

“I am so so happy that you’re back,” Nolan told Langsford as the audience cheered.

Langsford smiled as she replied: “Thank you! Thank you very much!”

She added: “It’s very nice to be back with you all.”

Langsford and GB News presenter Holmes, also 64, confirmed in May that they are in the process of divorcing after 14 years of marriage, having first started dating in 1996.

A statement issued by a spokesperson at the time said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

Shortly after, it was announced that Langsford would be taking extended leave from Loose Women.

While Langsford did not open up about her failed marriage during her first appearance back, it has been reported that she is expected to give her first and only interview to the ITV daytime show.

A source told MailOnline: “Ruth knows the viewers are heavily invested in her breakup so she will be addressing her and Eamonn for the first time on the show.

“She will be surrounded by the people she’s closest to on the show and then will be drawing a line under it… she has no plans to do a big interview, this will be the one and only time she speaks.”
