Loose Women star Ruth Langsford found herself caught up in the fallout following Phillip Schofield's departure from ITV after her husband Eamonn Holmes spoke out about the situation.

Eamonn Holmes opened up in an interview with GB News about the latest revelation that emerged with Phillip Schofield leaving ITV He also said said Holly Willoughby should follow Phillip Schofield “out the door” of This Morning.

Ruth continues to work on ITV's Loose Women and it has been reported that she snubbed peace talks with Holly and is refusing to discuss the alleged rift Eamonn Holmes' string of attacks on the mum-of-three, Birmingham Live reports.

An insider reportedly told Bella magazine that Holly, 42, is trying to clear the air with Ruth. “Holly is doing her best to learn from mistakes and clean up this toxic mess,” the source allegedly said. “She is aware that she may come across as rude to a few people on the show – including Ruth.”

The insider reportedly said that Holly would “never want Ruth to think she has any ill will towards her”. Holly has “been desperately trying to extend an olive branch to her for the past few weeks now," they added.

“People on the show think it’s too little, too late,” they continued. “The feud runs deeper than Holly seems to understand – it’s going to take a lot for Ruth to forgive and forget.” They added: “She would rather stay out of having to have any peace talks with Holly because, in her mind, the damage has been done.

"She wishes Holly nothing but the best and will always be civil and professional – but it doesn’t feel right to just suddenly forgive and forget.” Schofield, 61, resigned from ITV in late May.
