Ruth Langsford Instagram post sparks fan concern over Eamonn Holmes

Concerned fans were left scratching their heads after Loose Women presenter Ruth Langford posted a touching Christmas video on Instagram without her husband Eamonn Holmes. The famous couple earned themselves plenty of praise for their time as This Morning presenters - before they lost their Friday slot on the ITV show to Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary at the end of 2020.

While they did stay on as holiday cover for a while after that, Eamonn eventually quit to move to a job on GB News. Ruth, best known now for being a host on Loose Women, made a surprise return to This Morning in the summer, without Eamonn, when she teamed up with Rylan Clark to front the show for a week in August.

Ruth and Eamonn haven't shared the spotlight for some time and he was absent from a video she shared on her Instagram grid, with the couple's dog Maggie instead being the star of the show, with Ruth also capturing her mum enjoying herself, Chronicle Live reports. Ruth captioned the video: "Never seem to find time to post much over Christmas and I know it’s over now, but I couldn’t resist making this little reel of Maggie enjoy the festive season! It’s all about the kids isn’t it?!!"

The popular TV star's video insight came just as other half Eamonn opened up about his health struggle on Twitter. Eamonn has been very candid about his battle with chronic pain over the last year, seeing using a walking stick in his final stint on This Morning.

And on Wednesday, he took to Twitter to post: "Worked hard at my physio this morning. Very tiring but I've now sat on my backside for 5 hours and feel bad about doing nothing... lack of mobility & depending on others stops me doing really simple things. For peace of mind I feel another round of foot exercises coming on."

One fan told him: "I feel your pain I had 6 months of physio 2 hours a night 5 a week. I hated relying on folk.. but the one thing was NO one will ever understand how awful Physio is and how exhausting." Eamonn replied: "Relying is soul destroying."

And the fact Eamonn was absent from Ruth's video sparked some concern, with one of her followers commenting: "Awh Maggie is such a beautiful dog - so full of love and cheekiness. Wish Eamonn had made it into your montage though Ruth." And another replied: "Oh, just love Maggie and your gorgeous Mum. However, how is your wonderful husband Eamon right now. I miss him so much on your post."

Ruth did in fact mention Eamonn in a post from last weekend, giving him credit for the family's Santa Claus salt and pepper pots, as she shared a photo of their Christmas Day dinner table.
