Ruth Langsford forces Loose Women break as Coleen Nolan brands colleagues 'too sensitive'

Ruth Langsford rushed to a well timed break on Tuesday's Loose Women, to shut down a conversation between her colleagues, as she declared the show was 'descending into debauchery.'

For the second day in succession, ex This Morning presenter Ruth headed up the panel of the ITV lunchtime programme, with one topic raised being about whether people should prioritise buying a new bed after a split from their partners, following on from an interview with Alan Carr in which the comedian said he rushed out to get a new bed in order to make a 'fresh start.'

Joking about her well documented love life, Coleen Nolan was first of the Loose Women panel to give her opinion, quipping: "Well, how many girls can one girl buy?" She added: "That's a lot of beds! And bests are expensive...just buy a mattress topper!"

Coleen did backtrack slightly to reveal that when she olt a divorce, she didn't take the marital bed with her as she 'wanted everything new,' but then added: "If you've just been in a relationship and you're still staying in the house, I'm not going to go 'And take the bed with you!"

Playing devil's advocate, host Ruth replied: "But it's a very intimate place, things have happened in the bedroom,. in that bed." but, standing firm, Coleen fired back: "Would it bother you if you went round to a guy's house who'd had past girlfriends? Would you go 'You Need to get rid of that bed before I sleep with you?!"

Co-star Brenda Edwards, commented: "If you've ben married and you got divorced, out of respect, change that bed, I'm all for that. I think you just need to be adult and bare that person's feelings in mind."

Brenda then went on to say that if she had met someone and he was living in the marital home, she wouldn't want to get in that bed, which prompted Coleen to react: "What do you mean no? You're all a bit sensitive!"

Quick to respond, Brenda replied: "It's not sensitive at all," as Coleen retorted: "But you sleep in hotel beds and god knows what's been going on in there!"

Kelle Bryan joked that if people had to change the bed b ecause they'd been intimate with an ex, then they would also need to change the "kitchen sideboard," with Coleen adding: "And the couch and the bath...and everything in the house!"

Sending where the conversation was headed, Ruth remarked: "This is descending into debauchery. I'm making a decision to take a break."
