Ruth Langsford fears for husband Eamonn Holmes as he shares 'hellish' health struggles

Eamonn Holmes recently spoke of his 'hellish few weeks' after he fractured his shoulder in another health blow.

Now, his beloved wife Ruth Langsford is riddled with concern for her Eamonn as he continues to recover from a number of health woes.

TV presenter Eamonn, 62, fell down the stairs while recovering from a major operation on his back, and is not expected to return to GB News as a host on its breakfast show until the new year.

Appearing on GB News this week, Eamonn gave an update on his health, and said he is trying to look on the bright side.

He told the network: "Last month I suffered a fall at home while I was recovering from my back operation and fractured my shoulder.

"It was a massive setback and means I’m going to need to take some extra time off to get myself better.

"It’s been a hellish few weeks. But day by day I’m improving, and I am remaining positive and trying to look on the bright side."

While Eamonn is able to keep a positive outlook on his current situation, his wife Ruth can't help but fear for her husband.

Eamonn's latest health blow is said to have 'taken a toll' on Ruth and has left her 'feeling scared' for the future.

"Eamonn is thankfully turning a corner after his operation. He is getting better and the whole family has rallied round, but it has been hard for Ruth," a source told New Magazine.

"It hasn't been a nice time for her to see Eamonn in so much pain. He has been in absolute agony. He was pushing on while he was in a lot of pain, even when he was still working, putting on a brave face. It's going to be a long journey and it's longer than they first thought," the insider added.

Seeing Eamonn in so much pain has left Ruth feeling 'helpless'.

"Ruth was really worried about Eamonn at one point. She felt like there wasn't much she could do to help him, other than just be there for him" the source close to the couple shared.

Veteran broadcaster Eamonn had previously been off the airwaves after undergoing an operation in September in a bid to ease the 'pain and restrictions' he had been suffering from for over 18 months.

The TV star recently opened up about feeling ' humiliated ' after struggling to walk before covering the late Queen Elizabeth's funeral due to his condition.

Just weeks after his first operation, during an appearance on GB News, he told Isabel: "You're one of my dearest friends in life Isabel, and you go above and beyond the call of duty.

"I mean, there is such a beautiful heart with you but I mean it was humiliating for me, you took me through that crowd and I stumbled a few times, and my leg gave way a few times. And after that I was a bit humiliated really. You didn't make any issue of it, but it was an issue for me."

Despite his recent setbacks, Eamonn is committed to trying to help other sufferers of chronic pain.

"One thing I’ve noticed is just how many other people out there are suffering from chronic pain, and I am determined to keep speaking up on their behalf," he said on GB News this week.
