Ukrainian rescue workers are completing a “frantic” search for survivors after at least five people died in a Russian missile strike in Dnipro.
The blast struck an apartment block on Saturday and city governor Valentyn Reznichenko wrote on Telegram that 27 people have been injured, including six children - and that they are all being treated in hospital.
An official from the Ukrainian president’s office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said 15 people had been rescued from the rubble.
Mr Tymoshenko also posted a picture which showed a nine-storey block of flats, part of which had collapsed entirely.
"They (Russians) are just inhumans. At least one stairwell is gone. Under the rubble there are people who were at home for the holiday," said Mr Tymoshenko.
Two children are believed to be among those injured, authorities said.
It comes as Ukrainian authorities announced air raid alerts in regions across the country.
In the past several hours, the official air alarm Telegram channel has announced warnings for the region around capital Kyiv, as well as the major cities of Kherson and Lviv.
Alerts are also in place in the regions of Kharkiv, Donestk, Dnipropetrovsk, and about a dozen others.
Authorities also said artillery fire was hitting the southern city of Nikopol, with all residents urged to seek shelter.
Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak has confirmed the UK will provide tanks to Ukraine to help Kyiv’s forces “push Russian troops back”.
Downing Street said Sunak made the pledge during a call on Saturday morning with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky.
No10 said the prime minister offered Challenger 2 tanks and additional artillery systems as a sign of the UK’s “ambition to intensify our support to Ukraine”.
Mr Zelensky thanked the UK on Twitter for making decisions that “will not only strengthen us on the battlefield, but also send the right signal to other partners”.
The move makes the UK the first western power to supply the Ukrainians with main battle tanks.
