The Russian government has stated that there have been no serious discussions regarding a potential meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov mentioned that there has been no initial contact to determine the necessity, timing, and format of such a meeting.
Despite growing anticipation, Peskov advised against rushing into conclusions and assured that any concrete developments will be communicated promptly. He also mentioned that preparations for a meeting, possibly scheduled for this month, are in progress.
Confirming the existence of talks between US and Russian officials on Ukraine, Peskov acknowledged that there have been recent intensified contacts between relevant departments. However, he refrained from providing specific details on the ongoing discussions.
