Over 30 drones were shot down by Russian authorities in Ukraine's western regions overnight into Sunday. This incident occurred just hours after a Russian bomb attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city, resulted in the death of three individuals and left dozens hospitalized.
One of the four aerial bombs hit a five-story residential building on Saturday afternoon, leading to 41 people still receiving treatment for injuries, according to regional officials.
Following the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Ukraine's partners to enhance its air defenses. He emphasized the need for modern air defense systems such as Patriots, accelerated training for F-16 pilots, and ensuring sufficient range for Ukrainian weapons.
Meanwhile, in the Kyiv region, two individuals were wounded by falling debris when two Russian missiles were intercepted and shot down by Ukraine's air force commander.
On the Russian side, air defense forces reported shooting down 33 Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk, Smolensk, Lipetsk, and Tula regions in western Russia. Fortunately, no casualties or damage were reported in this incident.
Additionally, in Ukraine's partly occupied Donetsk region, two individuals lost their lives and four others were wounded in Russian attacks on Saturday.
