Russian airstrike in Dnipro kills three and injures 30, including children

At least three people were killed in a Russian drone attack in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro late on Wednesday evening.

A young girl was among the dead, regional governor Serhiy Lysak said in a post on Telegram.

Some 30 others were injured, including five children, of whom 16 were being treated in a local hospital.

Several fires broke out as a result of the strike, damaging at least 15 buildings across the city.

The attack came after Russia struck the city of Kherson earlier in the day with glide bombs and artillery.

Russian forces opened artillery fire as rescue services arrived on the scene following the initial bombing attack, according to Ukrainian authorities.

One person died and about nine others were wounded in the attack, which damaged a sports facility, a supermarket, residential buildings and civilian vehicles.

Deadly Russian aerial assaults have escalated in recent weeks despite calls by US President Donald Trump for a ceasefire.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has arrived in the French capital Paris for talks with his European counterparts.

Together with Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, they will discuss efforts to end Moscow's ongoing war in Ukraine.

Ukraine’s foreign and defence ministers and the British Foreign Secretary David Lammy are also due to take part in the discussions.
