Russia launches massive attack on Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, injuring eight

Russia launched 74 drone attacks on Ukraine overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday, killing one person and injuring eight others in separate incidents, according to Ukrainian officials.

Ukraine's air force reported on its Telegram channel that it had downed 41 of the drones, while 20 decoy drones went off radar.

They added that the regions of Donetsk and Odesa were also targeted in the assault.

The Regional Governor of the Eastern region of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, wrote in a post on social media that 15 Russian drone strikes hit the city injuring eight people, including three children.

The attacks also ignited fires and caused significant damage to houses and industrial buildings.

Meanwhile, the Governor of the Zaporizhzhia region announced on his official Telegram channel that, over the past 24 hours, Russia had carried out 459 strikes on nine settlements in the area.

At the same time, Russia's Ministry of Defence claimed that Ukraine had launched two attacks on energy infrastructure, despite a partial ceasefire agreement that prohibits strikes on the power grid.
