Ukrainian authorities reported that Russia conducted a significant drone attack on Ukraine, resulting in injuries and damage to infrastructure. The attack targeted the southern city of Odesa, where at least four people were injured, and energy infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged.
During the assault, Ukraine managed to shoot down 65 out of 99 drones launched by Russia across the country. The Ukrainian air force attributed the failure of 32 drones to reach their targets to electronic warfare countermeasures. The fate of the remaining two drones remains unspecified.
Reports from the northern Sumy region indicated that a children's medical center sustained damage as a result of the Russian drone attacks. In the eastern Donetsk region, one person was killed, and another was injured due to Russian attacks over the past day. Additionally, five individuals were injured in the southern Kherson region as a result of the Russian assaults.
The attacks occurred amidst news that President Donald Trump had ordered a pause on shipments of US military aid to Ukraine following a contentious Oval Office discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The situation remains tense as both countries navigate the aftermath of these recent events.
