Early Wednesday, Russia initiated aerial attacks on energy facilities across Ukraine, launching more than 50 missiles and drones in seven regions, as reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The strikes caused damage to the railway station and tracks in Kherson and resulted in injuries in Brovary.

These attacks are part of a pattern where Russia consistently targets Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Similar assaults took place on April 27 and the week prior, highlighting the ongoing threat faced by the country.

Zelenskyy condemned the attacks, pointing out the significance of the date as Ukraine commemorates the end of European fighting in World War II. He emphasized the need for the world to recognize the aggressor and stand against any resurgence of Nazism.

Ukrenergo, the national electrical grid operator, confirmed that facilities in Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Poltava, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions were targeted. Additionally, two energy facilities in the Lviv region, located far from the front lines, were also hit.

The escalation of violence in Ukraine underscores the precarious situation in the region and the urgent need for international attention and action to address the conflict.
