Russell Wilson wants to win 3 or 4 Super Bowls with the Broncos

The Denver Broncos have played in eight Super Bowls, winning three of them. If new quarterback Russell Wilson accomplishes his lofty goals, Denver will double that win total.

“My goal is to play 10 or 12 more years and hopefully win three or four more Super Bowls,” Wilson said at his introductory press conference on Wednesday. “That’s the plan. That’s the mindset. That’s why I came here, to hopefully be able to finish my career here, and to finish on top as a champion and do it multiple times. That’s my mindset.”

Wilson, 33, has previously said he would like to play until he’s 45 (which would be 12 more seasons). It’s an extremely ambitious goal, but it has been done. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will turn 45 this summer and he’s won seven Super Bowls in his career.

Broncos fans would probably be content with a Peyton Manning remix. Manning played the final four years of his career in Denver and helped the Broncos reach two Super Bowls, winning one of them.

Wilson obviously wants to play much longer than Manning, but even just one Super Bowl victory would be considered a success. Aiming high is part of what makes Wilson so successful, though.

Las Vegas certainly thinks Wilson will help Denver’s chances of winning another title. After acquiring Wilson, the Broncos now have the fifth-best odds to win Super Bowl LVII this season.
