Russell Wilson traded to Denver, not Washington

Breaking: The Seattle Seahawks are trading Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos for a multitude of draft picks.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Wilson is being dealt for multiple first-round draft selections and additional picks and players. Part of the package to Seattle is Broncos quarterback Drew Lock who played his college ball at Missouri, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, tight end and former first-round pick, Noah Fant, two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth-round pick.

The Broncos receive a fourth-round pick in addition to Wilson.

This means the AFC West now has starting quarterbacks of Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs), Justin Herbert (Chargers), Derek Carr (Raiders) and Wilson (Broncos). Washington fans can at least be satisfied they had to face the AFC West division last season (2021).

Also, of note, after a hard push by the Washington Commanders (Ron Rivera and Martin Mayhew), Commanders fans are being reminded that less than a week ago, Seattle Coach Pete Carroll confidently asserted that Seattle had “no intention” of trading Russell Wilson.

Schefter is reporting that the deal is pending Wilson’s approval and physical, but both teams have agreed to the compensation.
