Russell Wilson’s injury puts QB’s status ‘in doubt’ for London game

After previously dealing with a partially torn lat in his right throwing shoulder, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson now has a partially torn hamstring, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

The Broncos have already ruled Wilson out for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, and NFL Network reports that the hamstring injury has put the QB’s status “in doubt” for Week 8 as well.

Denver will start Brett Rypien against the Jets on Sunday and the backup might be in line to start again when the Broncos travel to London to face the Jacksonville Jaguars next week.

Wilson has a Grade 2 strain that is “generally a multiple-week injury because of the risk of additional damage,” according to Rapoport and Pelissero.

After facing the Jaguars in England, the team will have a bye in Week 9. Denver might consider resting Wilson until a showdown with the Tennessee Titans on the road in Week 10 on Nov. 13.
