Russell Wilson comes to aid of Najee Harris after costly fumble vs Eagles

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson had nothing but praise for star running back Najee Harris — even in the wake of a critical Week 15 fumble against the Philadelphia Eagles (which the NFL credited to Wilson).

Wilson reflected on Harris’ contributions to the team and emphasized his unwavering confidence in his teammate. “The best thing about ‘Naj’ is he loves football,” Wilson said in a press conference on Wednesday. “He loves his team. He’s going to give everything he has every day.”

Despite the setback, Wilson quickly shifted the focus from the fumble, pointing out that a single play rarely determines success on the field. “Stuff happens in a game; it wasn’t that one play. It’s a collection of plays that we think we could’ve capitalized on,” he explained, offering a team-first perspective on the loss.

Wilson praised Harris’ physicality, toughness, and grit, qualities that have been pivotal to the Steelers’ season. “He’s been remarkable this season, and he’s been spectacular running the football. We wouldn’t be where we are without Naj.”

Looking ahead to their next game against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, Wilson was optimistic: “The best thing is we’ve got another opportunity to play, and he’s going to shine. I can’t wait to see how special he is come Saturday.”
