Russell Westbrook’s wife claps back at criticism

As the Los Angeles Lakers have regressed through this miserable 2021-22 NBA season, Russell Westbrook has become their unquestioned scapegoat.

Some of it may be deserved. His play has been up and down throughout the campaign, partly because he’s not an easy fit in the lineup and partly because his athleticism has declined.

It’s perfectly fine to call out Westbrook for such problems, and, apparently, many within the Lakers organization agree. They made a sincere attempt to trade him prior to the trade deadline and will reportedly open such talks again this offseason.

But a fair amount of the criticism the nine-time All-Star has gotten is over the top. For instance, not only has he received death threats from some “fans,” but so has his family, including his wife, Nina.

On Monday, she took to Twitter to address those threats, including the overall criticism her husband has gotten since joining the Purple and Gold.
