Russell Westbrook funds new basketball court at OKC high school

Many fans of the Los Angeles Lakers have directed excessive criticism and even hate towards Russell Westbrook, single-handedly blaming him for the disaster that was the team’s 2021-22 season.

But there is no dispute that Westbrook is a good and generous human being in general.

His Russell Westbrook Why Not? Foundation has supported the hopes and dreams of children while helping to build their self-esteem.

Most recently, the foundation has funded the construction of a new outdoor basketball court at Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City.

Westbrook was there for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and he was presented with the key to the city by Oklahoma City mayor David Holt.

Although Westbrook is originally from the Southland, he made his name as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team he spent his first 11 NBA seasons with.

No matter what one feels about him as a basketball player, these are the sort of community-oriented, selfless acts that can endear him to everyone.
