Denver Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook posted the 200th triple-double of his career during Tuesday night’s 122-110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. The 36-year-old was already the NBA’s all-time leader in career triple-doubles.
Russell Westbrook leads Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, Nikola Jokic, and LeBron James in NBA career triple-doubles
Per the NBA and ABA triple-doubles list from Basketball-Reference, Oscar Robertson (181) is second and Magic Johnson (138) is third, followed by Nikola Jokic (136), LeBron James (117), and Jason Kidd (107).
This means Westbrook is 19 triple-doubles ahead of Robertson, and a whopping 62 in front of Johnson. Other active players he leads include James Harden (78), Luka Doncic (77), and Domantas Sabonis (61).
Westbrook, who is currently in his 17th season, finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists against Memphis. However, it took until the final minutes for the former Clipper to grab his 10th rebound.

With 1:28 remaining, Westbrook was one rebound shy when center Dario Saric missed a 3-pointer. Westbrook then grabbed his only offensive rebound of the game to accomplish the feat.
“It’s a blessing,” Westbrook said of reaching the milestone. “I’m truly grateful to be able to play the game [well enough] to do that. But I’m also appreciative of the ones who came before me.”
Westbrook has triple-doubles with six different franchises, surpassing Rajon Rondo and Mark Jackson for the most all time
Westbrook said he wasn’t thanking Saric for the miss that led to the triple-double.
“I thank [Saric] for making the next one to close the game, which is the most important,” he added.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, Westbrook has recorded a triple-double with six different franchises, breaking a tie with Rajon Rondo and Mark Jackson for the most all time.
With a triple-double in his 13th straight season, he’s tied for the second-longest streak in NBA history, trailing only Jason Kidd’s 17 straight seasons with a triple-double.
Julian Strawther, a second-year guard out of Gonzaga, is also in awe over Westbrook’s record.
“It’s hard to put into words,” said Strawther, who finished with six points, five rebounds, and two steals on Tuesday night. “Two-hundred triple-doubles is a lot. I don’t even know if I’ve got 200 career games.”
In addition to Westbrook being the NBA’s triple-doubles king, he currently has 1,884 offensive rebounds, the most by a point guard in league history. The nine-time All-Star ranks 139th, trailing Serge Ibaka and Antoine Walker on the all-time list.
