Russell Martin admits Swansea City's final third struggles once again proved costly as they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Bristol City.
Mark Sykes put the Robins ahead in the third round replay in south Wales before Ollie Cooper equalised with his first touch to send the tie into extra-time.
But Sam Bell struck a late winner for Nigel Pearson's men to ensure the Swans crashed out of the competition at the first hurdle, despite creating a number of chances to win the tie.
"I'm just really frustrated we haven't won it," said the head coach. "I feel like it's the same sort of answer I've given you a lot of times. We need more in the final third. They had so little until they scored.
"I was really pleased with the performance, we made seven changes, the game didn't look any different, we were so dominant.
"We needed to show more for the dominance. We give away a poor goal in the middle of the pitch. Their game plan has probably worked really well, Nigel will say.
"I'm so pleased with the players, they gave everything, they dominated for so long, but we need to make more of it because we only score one goal with the amount of entries we had in the box."
Meanwhile, Swansea are yet to make any signings this month, despite the fact a number of fringe players have moved on while the likes of Michael Obafemi, Jamie Paterson and Morgan Whittaker are not currently involved amid expected departures from the club.
And Martin says the Swans must avoid a repeat of previous transfer windows where they have bought fringe players late on as opposed to difference makers.
"Not at the minute," he responded when asked about potential imminent incomings. "Targets come and go, things change a lot very quickly.
"I don't see anything happening or changing imminently. January, sometimes, a lot kicks off very late.
"I'd have loved a new face in by now, just to help the guys and give everyone a boost, but I think every manager would say the same thing, you'd like to do your business early.
"Since I've been here, we've done a lot of deals late on in transfer windows, but we have to avoid some of the deals we've done previously. We have to be really careful about that.
"We've ended up making signings that bolster the squad but don't impact the starting 11. I don't think it reflects very well on us or the player. I think we've done too many of them.
"If we're going to sign people, they need to really make an impact and really change the dynamic of the squad."
Swansea return to action at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
