Russell Martin has revealed he urged his Swansea City players to be bolder in their second-half approach after trailing 1-0 at half-time in their win over Bristol City.
Andreas Weimann put the Robins ahead shortly before the interval at the Swansea.com Stadium as the hosts were staring down the barrel of another tough afternoon following Tuesday's loss to Stoke City.
But Martin's men significantly improved after the restart and claimed all three points courtesy of goals from Michael Obafemi, Cyrus Christie and Joel Piroe.
"I'm really proud of the players. I thought we started the game well and then a few sloppy moments, we had a bit of a lack of confidence from Tuesday," said the Swans boss.
"Every good moment they had we gave to them I think. We concede a goal from a mistake. We lose the ball 70 yards from goal which shouldn't lead to that.
"It was a tough position to be in. We spoke about it half-time, trying to be the team we want to be and show real courage. They did that in the second half. I'm extremely proud of them. It's been a tough week, personally and professionally.
"We have an unwavering belief and trust in what we want to do. We understand where we're at in the transition."
Victory lifted the Swans above Nigel Pearson's men into 16th in the Championship table with 16 matches left to play.
Prior to the contest, Martin took advantage of a rare Saturday off by watching Wales' Six Nations triumph over Scotland at the Principality Stadium.
And the 36-year-old has revealed he saw huge similarities between his side and Wayne Pivac's men after they registered ticks in the win column when under the cosh.
"I went to a game yesterday where a team that really trusts in the process of what they're doing stuck at it after a really difficult period at the start and then the crowd helped them, the Welsh rugby match yesterday," he added.
"The second half felt like that today. The crowd were massive, they played their part. They fed off the team's energy and it makes such a huge difference.
"In the last two games, especially in the second half, the way the team and the fans have connected has been hugely important."
And when asked who was Swansea's Dan Biggar against Bristol City, Martin responded: "Grimesy [Matt Grimes] just goes under the radar because he's so consistent.
"But I think Ben Cabango, the way he reacted from the mistake he made, I'm really proud of him, he's grown a huge amount with the responsibility he takes.
"He's probably one of the guys to really come out of Tuesday night with credit. The improvement is huge.
"That's why trying to play this way, it's about developing people, character and he's showing that he can really play football. It's been a real test for him, the first few months, getting used to do something new.
"There's no doubt he can defend at this level incredibly well, but the other side of the game, what he's doing and showing it takes big courage. He's been fantastic. Even the way he bounced back from making a bit of a mistake was fantastic.
"I told his parents last week that I love working with Ben. They should be really proud of him. Hopefully he continues to grow with us and hopefully he'll play a huge part for his country moving forward."
Swansea return to action against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon. Kick-off is at 3pm.
