Russell Martin's future at Swansea City is now in serious doubt - and there is a growing expectation he will now become the new manager at Southampton.
The Swans boss was due to travel to the United States to discuss his future with the club's American owners, but those talks now look to have been called off, with Martin's future at the Swansea.com Stadium looking increasingly precarious.
At the time of writing, there doesn't yet seem to have been any sort of official approach from the Saints, who were recently relegated from the Premier League, but that could well change in the coming days.
Martin is believed to be the ideal man to lead the club into what looks to be an ambitious rebuilding project, with the new regime keen to place a greater focus on possession-based football.
The 37-year-old is clearly seen as the ideal fit, and sources inside the club are increasingly pessimistic about the chances of Martin staying on at SA1 after two seasons at the helm.
It's unclear whether talks of over a new deal at the Swans have been completely abandoned, but the growing expectation is that Martin will soon become the new manager at St Mary's.
