Russell Martin is reportedly among the names being considered for the current vacancy at Leicester City.
The 39-year-old was sacked by Southampton earlier in the campaign, although their fortunes have barely improved since, with the Saints set to play in the Championship next season.
Martin has gained a reputation for being a possession-based, attack-minded coach. His methods helped earn Southampton promotion to England's top flight last year.

Given that Martin is out of work and used to play for Rangers, this has led to speculation that he could return to the club as head coach.
The ex-Scotland international, however, is reportedly being considered to take over from Ruud van Nistelrooy at Leicester City. The Foxes' relegation was confirmed at the weekend, and the Dutchman could soon be out of a job.

Martin was billed as the third-favourite to take the permanent Rangers job by bet365 at the weekend.
Appearing on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football last month, he was directly asked where his future lies, with Rangers mentioned in the line of questioning.
"I think I am realistic," Martin said. "I don't think I will get another Premier League chance right now.
"I think like most managers that come up from the Championship - 'not quite good enough for the Premier League'.
"It's maybe unfair on the managers that get there at times because you are there with a squad that has been so successful the year before but isn't quite ready for the Premier League.
"There is only two managers that have been taken out of the Championship for a long time - Nathan Jones and Graham Potter. The others have to get there and try and stay there and really get success.
"I really don't know (where is next). I am open to working abroad, in England again - I want to work back in the Premier League now I have got a taste of it.
"I want to get back there and I believe I can, so we will just have to wait and see."
