Russell Martin has confirmed Korey Smith and Ben Hamer will leave Swansea City this summer.
The Swans are expecting yet another significant squad turnaround during the close season, and several stars will depart when their contracts expire following the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign.
And speaking at Swansea’s annual awards ceremony, head coach Martin confirmed goalkeeper Hamer and midfielder Smith will both depart the club after the season ends.
Hamer started the campaign as the club’s second choice shot stopper but ousted Steven Benda from the team before falling behind January signing Andy Fisher in the pecking order. Swansea are expected to recruit an additional goalkeeper in the summer, with Benda also likely to move on.
Smith has played a key role under both Steve Cooper and current boss Martin since joining from Bristol City but has found opportunities increasingly limited of late.
