Russell Findlay leaves Scotland cringing after 'Ruth Davidson moment'

CURRENT Scottish Tory leader Russell Findlay has left Scotland cringing as he carries on his party’s baffling tradition of being papped sitting in military vehicles.

Findlay was snapped sitting in a Thales Bushmaster, which can be used to carry a number of weapons – though today it only had the one on board.

It is, apparently, a must-do photo op for Scottish Tory leaders.

Ruth Davidson got the ball rolling when she memorably posed astride a cannon during the 2015 election.

Her successor but one Douglas Ross also went full Action Man in 2021 when he gamely posed on the bonnet of an Armoured Personnel Carrier.

Findlay completed his Scottish Tory leader initiation programme on Monday as he was photographed by the Scottish Sun’s Lewis McKenzie poking out the top of Thales military wagon.

Reposting the image on Twitter/X, Findlay said: “Move over SNP camper van! Was thinking of buying this from [Thales] but it’s not LEZ compliant.”
