Thames Valley Police is investigating harassment and stalking allegations made by a woman against Russell Brand.
Mr Brand has faced serious accusations from a series of women in the past two weeks. He was accused of rape and sexual assault when four women made allegations to the Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches.
He has denied any wrongdoing and claims he is the victim of a conspiracy.
The Metropolitan Police had previously confirmed it had opened an investigation after receiving a “number of allegations of sexual offences” against the comedian.
Thames Valley has now said it is also probing new information but “it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation”.
The BBC claims that the woman reported her allegations to the police force numerous times from 2018 to 2022 but no action was taken. Mr Brand had also made harassment allegations against her in 2017, the media outlet said.
Thames Valley Police covers Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, where Mr Brand lives with his family.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “Thames Valley Police in the past two weeks, received new information in relation to harassment and stalking allegations dating back to 2018. This information is being investigated; as such it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation.”
It comes after four women accused Mr Brand, 48, of predatory and abusive behaviour, including rape and sexual assault.
The star has strongly denied the allegations said all his relationships were consensual.
Since then several other women have made claims about him. Mr Brand responded with a livestream video rant on the Rumble platform.
He complained about collusion between big tech and government, accusing “legacy media” of being in “lockstep” to “support a state agenda” and “silence independent media voices”.
The father of two, whose wife Laura Gallacher, 36, is expecting their third child, added: “Obviously, it is difficult for me to be entirely objective given the events of the last week, but that’s what we must try to do.”
Mr Brand has been approached for comment.
