Russell Brand charged with rape and sexual assault - what to know

  • Comedian Russell Brand has been charged with rape, indecent assault, oral rape, and two counts of sexual assault.
  • The charges relate to allegations from four women concerning incidents between 1999 and 2005.
  • The charges follow a joint investigation by Channel 4 Dispatches and The Sunday Times in 2023, after which police received several allegations.
  • Brand denies the allegations, stating he has never engaged in non-consensual activity.
  • He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on May 2, 2025.
