RuPaul's Drag Race star Gigi Goode comes out as gender fluid on show

RuPaul's Drag Race star Gigi Goode came out as gender fluid on the latest episode of the show.

The 21-year-old confessed that it was the first time that she had spoken about her gender fluidity.

She said that throughout her life she had "teetered between female and male".

After season 12's Snatch Game, Gigi admitted that she had been worried about playing her character Maria the Robot because she "relies heavily" on displaying her femininity.

Speaking to her fellow queens in the workroom, she said: "I’ve kind of always teetered between male and female throughout my whole life.

“I think I really always carry some sense of female and male, even when I’m in non-drag.”

Opening up about her family's support through her life, she said in the confessional booth: "Growing up I’ve always been interested in feminine things.

“I wanted to wear dresses to school. I’ve kind of always thoughts there’s no point putting a label in anything regarding gender."

Admitting that it was the first time she'd said it out loud, she continued: "Sometimes I identify as more male, sometimes I identify as more feminine. I think I’m both and I’m neither.”

Gigi added that she was "so thankful to have a mother who has shaped me into the person I am today".

She explained: "When I was 12, my mother brought me to my uncle who is gay. She took me to his house in Chicago, which was full of orange shag rugs and egg chairs hanging from the ceiling and a giant game of life wheel on the wall.

"It was just like paradise for someone like me in that current mindset.

"My uncle was the first person to talk to me about gay culture and LGBTQIA+ community. My uncle was the first person who told me who RuPaul was!"
