Timeline of Runcorn Bridge murder probe as two arrested and river searched
Two men were arrested on suspicion of murder after "suspicious" activity was reported on the Runcorn Bridge.
Police rushed to the Silver Jubilee Bridge on Saturday, February 12 following reports from members of the public.
Cheshire Police was contacted by a person who reported “seeing a man parking his car and acting suspiciously” on the bridge between 8.30pm and 9pm.

Inquiries led officers to arrest a 43-year-old suspect after visiting a number of sites in the St Helens area.
He has since been released under investigation.
After further investigation, a 38 year old man, of no fixed address, was arrested in the early hours of Monday, February 14, in Cheshire.

Woman's parking spot vandalised in 'disability hate crime'
A disabled woman woke to find the disabled parking space outside her house had been vandalised.
In a photo shared with the ECHO, the word 'disabled' painted on the tarmac has been painted over so it now just reads 'abled.'
The shocking incident shared in the Walton and Kirkdale Regeneration Facebook group was branded by some as a "disability hate crime."

The incident was brought to the attention by the sister of the woman whose parking space was painted over.
In the original post, the sister, who does not want to be named, said "there's some dirty scum out there who have no respect for anyone or anything".
She added she believes the act of vandalism happened in the early hours of Friday morning.

'Most amazing person' who lost dad to Covid hit by devastating diagnosis
The family of a man who died of Covid is hoping for a “miracle” after his daughter was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain tumour.
Mary Hassey, 37, of Runcorn, lost her dad Fran O’Dwyer, 63, in early 2020 in the first wave of the pandemic.
Graphic designer Mary, husband Matty Hassey and eight-year-old son Tommy’s world was rocked again in January this year when Mary suddenly fell ill, resulting in the discovery of a large brain tumour.

A surgeon at The Walton Centre was unable to remove it completely, and further painful news came as a biopsy revealed she had a grade four glioblastoma - an aggressive type of cancer.
Friends said Mary is known for her “contagious smile and laugh, her positivity and her absolute zest for life” as well as adoring her family, while husband Matty said she was a “ray of sunshine” and the “most amazing person I’ve met”.
Relatives and wellwishers are determined to help Mary and her family.
