Rumer Willis has shared her heartbreak over the deteriorating health of her dad Bruce in a seeringly honest social media post.
The 68-year-old Die Hard actor was diagnosed with aphasia in Spring 2022 and in early 2023, his family shared that he was further diagnosed with dementia.
Dementia is a degenerative disease and his particular type is Frontotemporal dementia, which can alter a person's behaviour and personality. Taking to Instagram on Monday, Rumer, 35, uploaded a throwback picture showing her as a baby in her dad's arms with him looking on proudly at her.
She captioned the image: "Really missing my papa today."
One person in the comments section wrote: "I cannot even imagine. My heart & prayers go out to you. I’m also sending you a sincere tight hug. Blessings to you."
Rumer is the eldest of Bruce's three daughters from his first marriage to actress Demi Moore. They also share Tallulah, 29, and Scout, 32.
He also has daughters Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, nine, with current wife Emma Heming Willis.
Tallulah recently shared her own post lamenting the father figure that she once new.
Uploading a slew of old pictures, she wrote: "Damn, these photos are hitting tonight. You're my whole damn heart and I'm so proud to be your Tallulah Belle Bruce Willis."
Bruce officially retired from acting last year with the help of his family who issued a statement on his behalf.
Once his condition had deteriorated further, they issued a follow-up, which read: "Bruce has always found joy in life - and has helped everyone he knows to do the same. It has meant the world to see that sense of care echoed back to him and to all of us."
