Injured All Black Sonny Bill Williams, who is expecting his second child with wife Alana Raffie, said that now is "the happiest I've been for a long time".
Williams was ruled out of rugby for the year after rupturing his achilles tendon during the New Zealand Sevens Olympic campaign in Brazil.
Despite the injury keeping him sidelined for the Rugby Championship and Bledisloe tests, 31-year-old Williams said that the past few months have been some of the most enjoyable he has experienced.
Williams told Breakfast "to be honest it's probably the happiest I've been for a long time".
"Being able to spend time at home with my girls, just concentrate a bit on family life.
"It's been tough, especially at the start, but there's always a silver lining to everything.
"At the Rio Olympics my sister got a medal, so we're proud as a family, and now, just waiting on the birth of my second child."
Williams, whose daughter Imaan was born in late 2014, didn't reveal when his new baby was due.
