Rufus Brickell missing: CCTV sighting reveals 22-year-old got off train and crossed Erskine Bridge

Fresh CCTV images have revealed that missing Edinburgh man Rufus Brickell got a train to West Dunbartonshire at the weekend.

Police have issued a fresh appeal as they bid to trace the 22-year-old who is from the Dalry area.

He was originally reported missing from Orwell Place at around 6pm on Saturday, but officers say further enquiries have established that he travelled by train to the west of Scotland and arrived at Kilpatrick Station just after midnight on Sunday. He then left the station and walked south across the Erskine Bridge.

Officers say they have widened their search, and want anyone who was driving in this area in the early hours of Sunday morning, and may have dashcam footage, to come forward.

Rufus is described as being around 5ft 11ins tall, of muscular build and with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a grey waterproof jacket, dark coloured jeans, dark green New Balance trainers and a dark green Eastpak rucksack.

Police previously said it was "totally out of character" for him not to be in touch with his family or friends.

Inspector Keith Forrester from Wester Hailes Police Station said: "Police and Rufus's family are very concerned for his welfare and we are urging anyone with information to come forward. We have widened our search and now know he is or was in the Kilpatrick and Erskine bridge area.

"If you believe you may have seen Rufus within the vicinity around this time we urge you to contact Police. We would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage who was driving in these areas in the early hours of Sunday morning to check back."

Anyone with any information should contact police quoting reference number 1477 of Sunday 6 October.
