Rudy’s Pizza has revealed the opening date for its hotly-anticipated new branch in Didsbury. It will throw open its doors on October 22 on the site of the old Mad Giant food hall on Wilmslow Road. The spot will be open seven days a week from 12pm to 9.15pm, Monday to Thursday, until 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights, and until 9pm on Sundays.
Martyn Williams, General Manager of Rudy’s Didsbury, said: “We look forward to becoming part of the community in Didsbury. We will open our doors on October 22nd and the team cannot wait to serve our authentic Neapolitan pizza in this lovely neighbourhood.”
The opening of the new Didsbury pizzeria follows hot on the heels of the new Barlow Moor Road branch in Chorlton, which has already become a hit with locals. It’s also rapidly becoming a national brand.

Having first appeared in Ancoats in 2015, the original Rudy’s was an instant success, with queues snaking out of the restaurant on Cutting Room Square every night of the week. After receiving investment from the group behind the likes of Albert’s Schloss and Trof, it then opened a second branch on Peter Street.
It’s flown from there, with a branch in Soho in London, and branches in Birmingham, Sheffield and two each in Liverpool and Leeds. As well as neighbourhood branches in Chorlton and Didsbury, there’s also another in Sale.
The chain has made its name by using authentic ingredients - such as San Marzano tomatoes and Caputo 00 flour - to make proper Neapolitan pizza, which is baked in a Stefano Ferrara oven for just 90 seconds.
