Rude The Chase blooper leaves fans in stitches as Bradley Walsh struggles to respond

Fans of the Chase were left in stitches after one blooper stole the show in the quiz's Christmas Eve special.

The ITV quiz show has gained a reputation for some hilarious exchanges between host Bradley Walsh and contestants.

So much so that the show's producers put together a special Christmas blooper edition, 'The Chase- The Bloopers', to document some of the hilarious moments that never made it into the original programme.

In the past the quiz show has produced some seemingly unrivalled moments of quiz TV gold.

Namely the 'Fanny Chmelar' incident, which saw contestants and viewers alike struggle to contain their laughter at the rather unfortunate - to English ears - name of a retired German alpine skier.

But this year's bloopers special, aired on Christmas Eve, produced another spectacular moment of innuendo that had fans in stitches.

Six minutes into the programme, host Bradley Walsh was discussing the topic of dressing up as TV characters at Comic Conventions, after the contestant said it was one of his favoured pastimes.

The exchange that followed was a rather awkward one.

Bradley Walsh: "I think they're great. I went to two at the Excel Centre and you see all these people going round in costumes and you think, 'what the hell is going on?'

Contestant: "I might have bumped into you?

Bradley Walsh: "You might have done. I was dressed up as me.

Contestant :"Ah, that's where I've seen you.

Bradley Walsh: "I'm going to have to start going to comic cons now that I'm in Dr Who."

Contestant: "Yeah,  I might dress up as you."

To which he added, innocently: "Do you think I could pull you off?"

After what seemed like minutes of laughter from the studio audience, Bradley - seemingly lost for words - swiftly moved the conversation along.

What was intended as an innocent and deferential question, will now haunt this one poor quizzer for the coming weeks and months.

At least until the next bloopers special when another contestant enters the Chase innuendo hall of fame.
