Barcelona are lining up a summer move for Wolves midfielder and reported Arsenal target Ruben Neves.
That's according to the Daily Mail, who claim that the La Liga giants have begun talks with intermediaries over a possible summer move for the 24-year-old central midfielder.
Neves has been in fine form for Wolves in the Premier League this season, but with less than two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Molineux, the Portugal international continues to be linked with a move away from the West Midlands club.
Manchester United are also said to be interested in Neves ahead of the summer transfer window, but they, as well as Arsenal, will now be on alert with Barcelona supposedly making their move.
Wolves boss Bruno Lage, when speaking about Neves' future at the club in September of last year, conceded it was difficult for them to keep someone of the Portuguese's talent, with the "big teams" sniffing around.
Lage said: "This is life after the big teams come for this player. I live with the rumour he can leave but he stayed with us. In this way, he took the best decision.
"Don't go. Stay and continue to improve with us and help us to be better. Let's see what happens. What Nuno [Espirito Santo] did was very good and I want to continue with that.
"The project is to take Wolves to the next step. From the club's side, we need to conquer our players to stay with us. Not just with a contract and salary but more ambition to be better."
football.london understands that Leicester City and Belgium midfielder Youri Tielemans is another option for Arsenal, with the Foxes star now well into the final 18 months of his contract at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers recently admitted that the club are preparing for life post-Tielemans, saying: "You always have to [prepare for a player leaving], that is key. I have said it before about the pipeline of players.
"You always have to be looking ahead, that's important. Sometimes it happens unexpectedly, other times you know where the situation is at.
"He is at an age and a stage in his contract where he has to ensure he looks at every option. I would love it to be here at Leicester, but I understand it's a very short career.
"For players, it's about ambition, the challenge and sometimes about a different environment. We have seen before that players will move on even after winning the Champions League.
"We have a close relationship, it's really strong. I made a commitment to him when I first came in that we would improve him as a player and he believes in the environment.
"Once the players are committed, focused and professional it's never a worry for me. You can see Youri loves being here and you have to respect these guys' careers are short."
